The Samsung DA2900003G Fridge Water Filter is known by many names. If your current fridge filter has one of the “Samsung DA29 Water Filter” codes, it’s almost certain the Samsung DA2900003G Fridge Water Filter will fit in its place.

However, it’s important you know that this isn’t always the case. Due to the varying sizes and shapes of different connections, you need to be sure the water filter you’re purchasing will fit your fridge.

For example, the DA2900003G is NOT a suitable replacement for the DA2900003F, as they each have a different connection.

Here’s how to remove your old fridge water filter and replace it with a new DA29-00003G fridge water filter.

• Slowly rotate the old cartridge 45° to the left
• Remove the filter by pulling it straight down then discard it — this will shut the water off automatically
• Take the protective red cap off the new filter
• Push the new filter up into the filter cover until it won’t go any further
• Turn the filter 45° to the right, locking it into place
• You’ll feel the filter stop and the locked symbol will be aligned with the indicator line above
• Don’t over-tighten the filter
• Run water through the dispenser for 5 minutes to purge the system.
• Search around the filter for any water leaks
• To reset the filter indicator light, press and hold the ice type and child lock (or moisture control) buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds — the light will turn green when done correctly

Note: If you hold both buttons simultaneously for more than 5 seconds, you'll cancel the reset process. In the event of a cancellation, simply release the buttons and start again.

When to change a filter: Look for the replacement indicator light for the water filter cartridge on your fridge’s digital panel. When the light turns orange, it means you need to replace the filter soon. When it turns red, you need to replace it immediately.

For the best tasting water, we also recommend you change the filter every six months (even if the indicator light hasn’t yet turned red) or whenever you notice a decrease in water flow.

The Samsung DA29-00003G Fridge Water Filter has been tested and certified by NSF International against NSF/ANSI Standards 42 & 53. As with all built-in refrigerator water filters, the Samsung DA29-00003G does not remove fluoride.

Note: The filter also helps reduce lime scale buildup to protect your refrigerator and ice maker.
